Journal 1/4/10 78 and 56

Just before break you did an activity to see what you would pay in taxes. All of the cores are paying between 39% and 42% of their weekly paycheck. Americans pay taxes in many different ways. Their income, or what they get paid, is taxed. Items bought at stores are taxed in most states. We call this a sales tax. A special tax is placed on restaurants and hotels. If you own a house or land you will pay a property tax. There is also another category called an excise tax. This is when a certain item has a special tax. Cigarettes, gasoline, and alcohol are just a few that have an extra tax on them. What you are paying is probably close to what the average American pays, or it might even be a little less. Here is your question. Would you change the amount of taxes you are now paying if you knew what the activity was for? Explain your answer with specific reasons.
